Hazard and Disaster Management Programmes

The Hazard and Disaster Management Programmes are part of the Department of Geological Science Research Programme. Much of the research is of a collaborative nature involving staff or groups of staff working with postgraduate students, senior fellows and research associates within and outside the Department. There is significant external collaboration with international colleagues, local and federal government agencies, and other research institutions. The key programmes are:

There are also close links with The Canterbury Regional Council, Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management, Landcare Research and the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences, Wairakei Research Centre.
